Karanah Park was established in 1992 and since this time we have been dedicated to breeding ponies & galloways who are structurally correct, sensible, have a good work ethic, along with the looks, movement & pizazz to succeed in any equestrian persuit.
Situated on twenty acres amongst the Mt. Disappointment State Forest one hour north of Melbourne, the stud is run by myself and my family, breeding mostly two foals each year, with an emphasis on quality rather than quantity.
Our family of carefully selected individuals that form our breeding stock are show winners themselves & their offspring have performed extremely well at Breed, Royal, & HOTY level. Their babies are given the very best start in life, they are well handled and adjusted, ready for promising careers in hand & under saddle.
Bloodlines at our stud include those of Syon Royal Portrait (Imp), Syon Splendour (Imp/Dec), Rotherwood Acrobat (Imp),
Sir Percy of Paxhall (Imp), Sandbourne Royal Ensign (Imp) & Lechlade Quince through his son Westhill Standing Ovation (Imp).
Native blood also plays an important role in our breeding programme through our senior stallion Senruf Mayday (Imp/UK)
& a little arabian influence with highly successful British riding pony & partbred arabian sire Royal Ensign of Trellech (UK).
Now, with an increasing interest in performance amongst the equine fraternity, and being a keen dressage rider & competitor in my 'younger' years, our stud is now looking to the future, and this year, our first purpose bred performance foal has been born. This is an exciting 'new' adventure for us, and we look forward to offering some outstanding young individuals in the future by stallions in Europe
& Australia.
We hope you enjoy your tour of our stud.
Our website is frequently updated, so please call back again & catch up on our latest news.
Cheers,
Karen Parrish
